I am an artistic researcher primarily interested in Deleuzian philosophy and its intersections with art, design, animation, and technology. My work focuses upon physical electronics as a material form of expression. In a technological context, I work primarily with Processing, Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
I have a long standing interest in practice-oriented modes of research as asthetico-conceptual modes of investigation. Artefacts can be seen as unique, precisely attuned methods for probing or unsettling equally specific and situated problems. I am also interested in writing - but more as a long-durational, aesthetic process, than as a logico-propositional form of expression.
My PhD thesis developed a process-philosophical account of practice-oriented modes of research, focused upon the production of inter-textual, affective and material relations. I am currently working on a monograph exploring the significance of Deleuzian and Derridean thought, in the context of artistic research.
Much of what I do is informed by Deleuzian, Bergsonian, and Derridean thought. |
