 Android, iPad & iPhone Sessions | 2010
|
In 2010 I introduced iPhone,/iPad and Android programming into my Creative Code module at Huddersfield.
With regard to iOS development, I devised a simple programming framework based around the structure of Processing - a programming tool with which my students were already familiar. This enabled a simple route into a complex environment. Students engaged in simple graphics programming exercises in order to learn about variables, arrays, objects and classes. Despite the focus upon a subset of the programming language, this approach enabled students to produce fully interactive, publishable applications that were written in Objective-C and targeted on iOS.
The recent advent of Processing for both iOS and Android platforms allows students to experiment with a multi-touch, gesture driven environment and to rapidly prototype applications, before translating them into the native framework that I initially devised. |
