For Brass Art's Writers' Rooms series, I developed a Kinect point cloud capture and editing system, which was used to develop a series of video sequences and choreographed forms of projection, along with a battery powered system that would enable hand held 'filming' with Microsoft's Kinect.
The system allows point cloud data to be captured and stored in real-time. The captured material can subsequently be navigated in four dimensions - allowing footage to be analysed and manipulated retrospectively, with new angles/levels of zoom, and various post-production effects applied.
I am currently working on a Raspberry Pi based playback system for the next iteration of the work. This will enable a networked and choreographed 'Symphony for Freud', which will operate across a number of different screens and devices. |
